Hydrotherapy /Pediatric Rehabilitation
It is a form of exercise in warm water and is a popular treatment for patient with different disorders. It is also a fantastic way to improve functional abilities, like balance and walking, in the wake of debilitating illnesses or major surgical procedures. In particular, studies have shown aquatics to be highly effective at improving post-operative mobility and endurance.
Hydrotherapy has become more widely accepted in modern rehabilitation centers, Al-Hussein Society is one of the centers specialized in hydrotherapy since 1987, AHS provides hydrotherapy sessions based on comprehensive assessment by physical therapist & occupational therapist.
Expected Benefit and Target Population:
This type of exercise is a way of pediatric rehabilitation like:
-Cerebral palsy -Spina bifida
-Dawn Syndrome -Spinal cord injury
-Congenital abnormalities -Muscular dystrophy
-Gait problem -Developmental delay
We use hydrotherapy to:
· To maintain or increase the range of joint movement.
· To re-educate paralyzed muscles.
· To strengthen weak muscles and to develop their power and endurance.
· To encourage walking and other functional and recreational activities.
· To improve circulation.
· To give the child encouragement and confidence.
· Warm water stimulates blood flow positively, which leads to muscle relaxation.
AHS Hydrotherapy Team:
We have a specialized team of 10 physical and occupational therapists with experience from 3-11 years, headed by a therapist with 11 years’ experience.
